The right to work under NREGA starts with a demand. A written, dated application is your proof – without it, a missed 15-day deadline is hard to prove and an unemployment allowance is hard to claim.
What to include
- Name of the applicant and job card number
- Village and Gram Panchayat
- How many days of work you want, and from which date
- Names of the household members who will work
Fill in and print the form
The form below works entirely in your browser. It prints with a receipt slip at the bottom for the panchayat to sign and date.
Application to demand work
Submit a written application at the Gram Panchayat and always take a dated receipt. If work is not given within 15 days you become entitled to unemployment allowance, and the receipt is your proof. Your details stay on your device.
After you submit
- Get the receipt signed and dated, and keep a photo of it on your phone.
- Work should be offered within 15 days of the date on the receipt.
- If it is not, apply in writing to the block programme officer for the unemployment allowance, attaching a copy of the receipt.
During the agricultural pause that states may declare (up to 60 days), ask the panchayat how the 15-day period is counted.
