Any rural household whose adult members are willing to do unskilled manual work can register for a job card. Registration is free and is done at your Gram Panchayat.

- A household living in a rural area
- Adult members (18 or older) willing to do unskilled manual work
- One job card per household, listing every adult member who wants work
Documents to carry
- A photograph of the household (or of each adult member, as the panchayat asks)
- Aadhaar of each adult member, if available
- Bank or post office account details for wage payments
- Proof of residence, if the panchayat asks for it

After you apply
The panchayat verifies the details and should issue the job card within 15 days. Ask for a dated receipt when you submit the form. If the card does not come, raise it with the block programme officer.

Is there a fee?
No. The job card is free, and so is the photograph on it.
Can I apply online?
Applications are made at the Gram Panchayat. You can prepare the form online here, but it has to be submitted there.
