Name Missing from the NREGA Job Card List? What to Do

Not finding your name in the job card list is common, and usually easy to sort out. Work through the checks below before assuming the card has been cancelled.

1. Check the spelling and the head of household

Names are often entered in English with different spellings, or the card is listed under the head of household. Search for part of the name, the father’s or husband’s name, or the village.

2. Check the panchayat and year

Make sure you picked the right block and Gram Panchayat – boundaries change. If the report offers a financial year, try the current one.

3. Look for an asterisk

An asterisk (*) beside a name means the card was deleted. Cards are sometimes deleted during verification drives, for duplicate entries or after a household moves.

4. Ask at the panchayat

The Gram Rozgar Sevak can tell you why a card is missing. If it was deleted by mistake, ask for it to be restored in writing and keep a copy of the request.

5. Apply again if needed

If there is no record at all, apply for a new card. Use our printable application form and get a dated receipt.

Removed by mistake? Besides the panchayat, you can also file a complaint online.
